A solution to grief zoning, missed drops etc
When you get a nice item i.e. an r8 Crystalline gold, there is nothing stopping from a griefer from zoning out to a different location so no-one gets the drop. (yes there are people like that in the game unfortunately)
You want that r8 crystalline that dropped fair and square for you right?
So although i dont think this is going to be implemented, this is my suggestion.
At the end of a mission, you have a chance to get an item you didnt pick up for whatever reason. this allows you to pick up a gold or ecto that you didnt notice, without you losing out because you were focusing on healing your team etc. Why not implement it into zoning areas? when you go into another location, a table pops up of the items assigned to you, and whatever has been left out for 10 minutes is a free for all (to help those that like to salvage for mats).
unlike leftover drop tables from missions that seem to show up everytime you zone, this will only show up when you change to one zone, and wont show if you zone again as it will assume you didnt want the drops.
So as not to annoy those that hate those things popping up, there should be an option to disable it if they wanted so they are not swamped by unwanted items.

Seriously, I team up with jealous types all the time, and r8 crystalines drop for me like the sweat off Devona's forhead after running from LA to Ascalon because she's a hench and can do that.

What would prevent the griefer from just running back to the last zone again?

well then there would be an option to keep it on for all zones and a way to discard the items you don't want.

Don't run with retards who would do that? Really, is this a problem? Maybe I just manage to steer clear of all the a-holes in the game.

Agreed. Plus, greifers can ONLY zone you in places that have a place to zone to. So... most elite areas (where most good loot comes from) doesn't count.

I like this idea...although i think it would only work for items that dropped from enemies or chests that are still reserved to you. probably not the item you dropped on the ground for show.
plus, this "temporary storage", if it was able to be kept between multiple zones, could serve as an additional place to store things until you get to town...maybe even hold your share of gold left on the ground (a portion goes to each party member just as if you picked it up)

Couldn't tell you how many times I hit a chest or hidden chest in CoF and had some idiot zone before I could pick up the item, since they have the little missed treasure box which displays after dungeons it shouldn't be too hard to implement for other areas.
BTW, would it really be that difficult to just add stuff to your inventory if you have room automatically instead of having to pick item up. Seems this would have solved the problem in the first place, I know you get a lot of junk in there but this way you can drop or destroy at your leisure.

Why not just change zoning in explorable areas to function like mapping in towns?
"Your party will be transported to x location in..."
with an option to jump right away?

/signed for above idea with the following adaptation; this option only becomes available when someone hasn't picked up a recent drop.
